Total intravenous Anaesthesia (TIVA) sets are used in the process introduction of intravenous agents for induction and maintenance of anaesthesia.  

Spirit Medical® TIVA extensions sets are designed with patient safety and clinical best practice in mind. They are highly drug compatible and made from Tri-Layer Polyethylene and Braided Polyurethane tubing. They are all equipped with a high-flow gravity line, with an integral Anti-Reflux valve to protect against the risk of back-flowing IV fluids or drugs during parallel or simultaneous infusions. The drug delivery lumens also include Anti-Syphon valves to help reduce the risk of unintended drug infusion or free-flow.

• Spirit Medical® TIVA Extension Sets are optimised for patient safety and clinical use:  
  • Robust and highly drug compatible Braided Polyurethane and Tri-Layer Polyethylene (PE), non-DEHP and Latex free tubing materials to help prevent drug binding or leaching of phthalates into the fluid pathway 
  • Highly kink-resistant tubing that prevent occlusions 
  • Each set equipped with High-Flow Gravity line with an Anti-Reflux valve to protect against the risk of back-tracking IV fluids or drugs during parallel or simultaneous infusions  
  • Two and three lumen sets are available to support differing clinical needs  
  • Reduced risk of drug interactions ensured by a multiple lumen hub with minimal volume of common fluid space and integrated with the luer connector. Drugs have no space to mix within the extension set  
  • Helping to prevent medication errors with colour coded clamps and Anti-syphon valves on every drug line.  
  • Anti-Syphon valves help reduce the risk of unintended drug infusion or free-flow   
  • Every drug line is provided with a large, colour- coded, easy to operate pinch-clamp allowing safe and quick infusion set-up or medication changes  

   

  Spirit Medical® TIVA Triple Lumen Peripheral Extension Set with Two 175cm Extensions, SM000077 is equipped with the following:  

  • 8cm long, high-flow gravity line made from Braided Polyurethane with an integral Anti-Reflux valve to protect against the risk of back-flowing IV fluids or drugs during parallel or simultaneous infusions. 
  • 10cm long, drug delivery line made from Tri-Layer Polyethylene* with a large pinch-clamp that can be comfortably opened and closed with one hand as well as an Anti-Syphon valve to help reduce the risk of unintended drug infusion or free-flow. 
  • 12cm long, drug delivery line made from Tri-Layer Polyethylene* with a large colour-coded pinch-clamp that can be comfortably opened and closed with one hand as well as an Anti-Syphon valve to help reduce the risk of unintended drug infusion or free-flow. 
  • 175cm long further extensions pre-attached to the 10 cm and to the 12cm drug delivery lines are also made from Tri-Layer Polyethylene and the pre-assembly of this 175cm extensions to each drug line saves clinical time, improves overall efficiency and helps to reduce hospital packaging waste. 
  • All three lumens are highly kink-resistant tubing that help prevent occlusions 
  • Triple lumen hub that keeps the common space to a minimum to avoid the risk of adverse drug interactions. 
  • The triple lumen hub includes an integrated male luer lock with a vented cap.
